As you would all know by now we are both chai obsessed and we don’t even have to hesitate to think about what hot drink we will order at a cafe. What we love most about chai is that you can serve it hot or cold and there are so many different varieties now available.
We have been experimenting with different chai tea brands, milk types and spices and are sharing how we make our perfect brew at home!
You will need:
- Small saucepan or something similar such as a milk pan
- Your favourite loose leaf chai blend – Chai Walli, T2 and Prana Chai are a few of our favs!
- Your favourite milk – Soy, Almond or Lactose free are what we use
Please note these steps will make approximately one large cup of chai
Step 1: Fill your small saucepan approximately half-way with water. This is approximately 1- 1.5 cups.
Step 2: Add 1-2 teaspoons of your favourite chai to the water and bring to a medium heat and brew for 3-5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Step 3: Add a dash of milk (based on how milky you like your tea) and a small dash of cinnamon powder. Stir to combine all the flavours well and allow the milk to heat for another 2-3 minutes.
*If you don’t want to add milk you can skip this step*
Step 4: Get your favourite mug and a tea strainer and pour the brew through leaving you with a cup of warm goodness. Add a dash of cinnamon on top (if you have created the milky version) for added flavour and a cafe style presentation.
Sit back and enjoy the moment!
